Description
Giovanni Michelucci walnut chest for Poltronova
The Serena chest of drawers was designed by Giovanni Michelucci for Poltronova in 1955. Made in walnut wood, it features six drawers four smaller above and two larger below. Signed on the side, it is a rare and collectible piece of Italian modern design, merging functionality with sculptural clarity.
Architectural modernism
With clean proportions, minimalist pulls and solid walnut construction, the Serena reflects Micheluccis rationalist design language. Functional yet refined, its six-drawer layout emphasises practicality while the form embodies the clarity and durability of post-war Italian modernism.
